Our Editorial Policy

Every page on this site follows a clear process for research, writing, review, and updates.

Research Standards

All legal information on Frozen Account Guide is sourced from Malaysian legislation, court decisions and government agency publications where available. Where we rely on secondary commentary, such as a law firm's article, we label it as commentary. Primary sources include the Penal Code (Act 574), the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA), and Bank Negara Malaysia circulars and policies.

Each claim links to its source. When a legal provision is referenced, we include the specific section number so readers can verify the information independently.

We do not rely on anonymous tips, social media posts, or unverified claims as sources for legal information.

Writing Standards

Our content is written in plain language that a person without legal training can understand. We avoid unnecessary legal jargon. When technical terms are essential, we define them clearly on first use and link to our glossary.

Each page is drafted from the primary sources above, then adapted for English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Chinese so that all three versions cover the same legal concepts, using natural phrasing rather than a literal word-for-word translation. Where a functional element such as a WhatsApp message template is intentionally kept in one language, we say so on that page.

We write with empathy. People reading this site are often worried about their financial situation, their liberty, or both. Our tone is calm, clear, and supportive.

Review Process

Before publishing, we check content against the cited sources and confirm each source link resolves to the provision or page it claims to support. Each page shows the date its sources were last checked. This is a source and accuracy check, not a substitute for a qualified lawyer's review of how the law applies to your specific case.

Pages covering regulated legal topics carry that check date and a factual basis note linking to the primary source. Where a legal point has not yet had a documented substantive legal review, we do not label it as reviewed.

Who Writes These Pages

Pages are written by the Editorial team of Frozen Account Guide. We do not name individual writers.

Not reviewed by a lawyer. Pages are researched from public sources and are not reviewed by a lawyer. They are general information, not legal advice.

Updates and Corrections

Malaysian law changes. When legislation is amended, court decisions shift established interpretations, or government agencies update their policies, we work to update the affected pages, but there can be a delay before we do. Each page displays when it was last checked or edited so you can judge how current it is.

If you spot an error or an outdated reference, please let us know through WhatsApp. We review corrections and publish them once verified; we cannot promise a specific turnaround time.

What We Do Not Do

We provide legal information, not legal advice. The information on this site helps you understand the law and the legal process. It does not replace a consultation with a qualified lawyer about your specific situation. We make this distinction clearly throughout the site.

We do not predict case outcomes, guarantee results, or make claims about success rates. Every case is different, and outcomes depend on the specific facts and circumstances involved.
