What JSJK means
JSJK stands for Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Komersil, the Commercial Crime Investigation Department of the Royal Malaysia Police. In English it is usually called CCID. It is based at Bukit Aman and is the police unit that investigates mule-account cases. [f1]
If JSJK has contacted you, it may be handling an investigation linked to your account. That may involve a scam, a mule account or a frozen account tied to a money trail.
What JSJK does in these cases
JSJK investigates commercial and financial crime, including scam money moving through bank accounts. It traces transactions, identifies account holders and decides whether a case goes further.
Mule accounts are a large enforcement area: police detected 46,048 mule accounts in 2023 and 50,295 in 2024. [f2] Being contacted by JSJK does not mean you are charged. Investigators may want a statement from you to trace what happened.
Your rights when JSJK calls
Article 5(3) of the Federal Constitution gives you the right to consult and be defended by a lawyer of your choice. [f3]
A statement you give to JSJK becomes part of the case record. Speaking to a lawyer before your first statement helps you understand what you are being asked and how to avoid saying something that harms your defence. If you have been called in, advice at this stage can help you understand your position.

Getting advice first is wise. Article 5(3) of the Federal Constitution gives you the right to consult and be defended by a lawyer of your choice. Your statement becomes part of the case record, so a lawyer can help you understand your position before you say anything.
