Mule Account Lawyer in Negeri Sembilan
Work through these tasks one by one once your Negeri Sembilan account is treated as a mule account.

If your account is being treated as a mule account anywhere in Negeri Sembilan, work through the tasks below in order. The mule law is federal, so it is the same in Seremban, Port Dickson and Nilai.
Task one: stop all contact
End all contact with whoever asked for your account, card or banking login. Do not move money, close the account or do anything else they ask. From now on, anything you do on their instructions can look like you were taking part.
Task two: write down what happened
Set out, with dates, how your account came to be used. Keep the offer or advert that started it, the full chat, transfer records and every bank notice, with names and numbers. This record is what a lawyer needs, and it can help show how you were misled.
Task three: use your right to a lawyer
If you are arrested, Article 5(3) of the Federal Constitution gives you the right to consult a lawyer of your choice. [f4] You can also get advice before giving a full statement, which is when advice helps most.
Task four: know the possible charge
The heaviest mule charge is section 424C, using an account for transactions with no lawful purpose. It carries a fine of RM10,000 to RM150,000, or three to ten years in jail, or both. [f1] Holding someone else’s account is the lighter section 424A. [f2] Which one applies depends on the facts.
Task five: check any AMLA freeze
If your account is frozen, find out which power was used. An AMLA order made by the Public Prosecutor lapses after 18 months if you are not charged and no prosecution is started. [f3] A lawyer can check the dates in your case and what they mean for your next step.
Task six: the Seremban courts and legal aid
A mule case from anywhere in Negeri Sembilan goes through the state courts, and the High Court sits in Seremban. Mule offences are tried in the Magistrates’ Court or Sessions Court, and the prosecution decides which.
If cost is a worry, the Legal Aid Department (Jabatan Bantuan Guaman) has a Negeri Sembilan office for people who meet its income test. [f5]
For the wider picture, see the Negeri Sembilan page. Read what to expect when you consult a lawyer, the mule account defence overview and the section 424C explainer. No one can promise a result.
Where to attend
Confirm the court with your lawyer, and keep every letter that says where you must attend. If you need help with any of these tasks, send a short WhatsApp message and ask for a referral to an independent law firm.
Where a mule account case is questioned and heard in Negeri Sembilan
The High Court of Seremban sits at the Seremban Court Complex (Kompleks Mahkamah Seremban), which serves as the state’s High Court venue. [f6]
If you are charged, the prosecution decides which court hears the case, so ask your lawyer which court and date are on the charge sheet.
The state police headquarters (IPK Negeri Sembilan) is on Jalan Cambell in Seremban. The police list eight district headquarters (IPD): Seremban II, Jelebu, Jempol, Kuala Pilah, Nilai, Port Dickson, Rembau and Tampin. [f7]
Someone in Nilai or Port Dickson may be called to a different district office from someone in Seremban, so ask which IPD has the file. Being asked to give a statement is not a charge. Note the date, the officer and the case number, and speak to a lawyer before you answer questions.
If you need help with fees, the Legal Aid Department (JBG) lists a Negeri Sembilan office [f9], and the Malaysian Bar has a Legal Aid Centre in Seremban [f8]. Whether you qualify is for them to decide. If you are considering legal representation, request independent lawyer contact on WhatsApp with a brief, general message and no documents.

Can I see a lawyer before I answer the police in Negeri Sembilan?
Yes. If you are arrested, Article 5(3) of the Federal Constitution gives you the right to consult a lawyer of your choice. You can also get advice before giving a full statement. What you say in questioning shapes the case, so use this right early.
How long can an AMLA freeze last?
An order made by the Public Prosecutor under AMLA lapses after 18 months if you are not charged and no prosecution is started. No court can extend it. A police freeze under CPC section 116D lapses after 18 months if no prosecution is started, so a lawyer first checks which power froze your account.
What is the heaviest charge I might face?
Section 424C, using an account for transactions with no lawful purpose, is the heaviest. It carries 3 to 10 years in jail, or a fine of RM10,000 to RM150,000, or both. Section 424A, holding someone else's account, is lighter. A lawyer reads the charge closely before advising.
Which court hears a mule case in Negeri Sembilan?
A case from anywhere in the state goes through the Negeri Sembilan courts, and the High Court sits in Seremban. Mule offences are tried in the Magistrates' Court or Sessions Court, and the prosecution decides which. A lawyer can attend each date and handle the papers, but no lawyer can promise a result.
I cannot afford a lawyer in Negeri Sembilan. What can I do?
The Legal Aid Department (Jabatan Bantuan Guaman) has a Negeri Sembilan office for people who meet its income test. The Negeri Sembilan Bar legal aid centre can also help at key stages. Ask for advice early.
Where might I be asked to give a statement in Negeri Sembilan?
Usually at a police office, and the state police headquarters (IPK Negeri Sembilan) on Jalan Cambell, Seremban, oversees eight district headquarters [f7]. Ask for the office, officer and case number in writing, and speak to a lawyer first, because you may choose your own lawyer.
