A Subang Jaya example
Picture a part-time worker or student in Subang Jaya who answers an online job advert. The “employer” says salary will go through the worker’s own bank account, and asks for the card or online banking access to “set it up”.

What the law says
The offences are federal, so being in Subang Jaya does not change them. Handing control of your own account to someone else is Penal Code section 424B, which carries a fine, jail, or both [f1].
Holding or controlling someone else’s account is a different offence, section 424A [f2]. The law looks at the arrangement, not at whether you spent the money yourself.
So “I was only helping with my salary” is not a defence on its own. What you knew and why you did it matter.
How the case is handled in Selangor

I only let my salary be processed through my account. Is that an offence?
It can be. Section 424B covers handing control of your own account to someone else, even for what looked like a job [f1]. What you knew and why you did it matter to your defence, and records such as chats help show it.
