What is CCID?

CCID is the Commercial Crime Investigation Department of PDRM, called JSJK in Malay and based at Bukit Aman. It is the police unit for commercial crime, including mule-account and scam cases. If your matter involves suspected unlawful transactions, this is the department likely to investigate.

That is why a frozen-account case can move from your local station to a specialist team. The officers asking you questions work on commercial crime.

Why CCID and not the local station?

Mule-account cases are treated as commercial crimes. The CCID (JSJK) at Bukit Aman is the PDRM unit that investigates them. [f1]

If CCID contacts you, your account is probably part of an inquiry. That alone does not decide whether you are guilty. A lawyer can read the letter or call details with you and explain what is being asked.

How common are these cases?

Police detected 46,048 mule accounts in 2023 and 50,295 in 2024. [f2]

Preparing calmly, with your bank records in order, is the sensible response.

Can I check whether an account is flagged?

Yes. PDRM runs the Semak Mule portal, where the public can check whether an account or phone number is flagged as a mule. As of 2024/2025 reporting, 190,000 or more accounts were flagged. [f3]

What is CCID?

CCID is the Commercial Crime Investigation Department, called JSJK in Malay, based at Bukit Aman. It is the PDRM unit for commercial crime, including mule-account and scam cases. When a frozen-account matter goes beyond your local station, CCID can take it over and may ask for your statement.

Why is CCID handling my case?

Mule-account cases are commercial crimes, so a specialist unit investigates them, not an ordinary station. If CCID contacted you, your account is probably part of an inquiry into suspicious transactions. That does not mean you are guilty. It means investigators want to understand what happened in the account.

What should I do if CCID contacts me?

Stay calm and take it seriously. Write down who contacted you, keep every letter and reference number, and gather your own bank records. You can ask for legal advice before giving a detailed statement. Advice early on helps you explain your account honestly instead of reacting under pressure.
